A NEW WORLD : : WinZip's founder wanted to create a visual message that was "out there." It went on to become the #1 compression software application in the world.
Challenge
In 1993, WinZip Computing was operating out of a home office by one brilliant programmer who had a vision. Email was relatively new, the Internet in its infancy,
and this was a software application of which there was no existing category. Visually,
the founder wanted it to be so different people would be compelled to take interest
in its message. The goal was to introduce the compression software to the world
and make it ubiquitous.
Results
We created the "World of WinZip" with an identity that illustrates the application as well as visual messaging that is certainly out of this world. From the often imitated icons that launch the software to direct mail to package design, we've helped this must-have award-winning utility remain "out there" in front of its varied audience. The WinZip logo is now one of the most recognized in the industry.
